Hey guys!

It's the end of EOYs! (At least to most of you all). Miss the wonderful times with you all.

guys what is this? why so empty? all your lives so boring ah?

now let me give you all an insight into the life of a cross-country retiree, something which i'm sure none of you have experienced yet, though rest assured you all will in due course.

first and foremost you lose your tan. i used to have nice, singlet-shaped tan lines that left my arms looking all bronzed and sexy. now, having transferred to an indoor sport, i hardly have any tan lines. even if i do get some from pe, its those ugly t-shirt ones that leaves my arm looking like a yin-yang symbol.

secondly, you get fat. yup, sad but true, cross country retirees do get fat. and if even i get fat, what more you guys xD. my abs have lost its definition, while my obliques have certainly shrunk in size. obliques are the muscles above your hip bones, the one you get from doing side-planks. on another note, do do your exercises, they really help.

on a related issue, i do now have to watch what i eat. contrary to popular belief, quitting cross country does NOT mean you get to eat what you like. far from it! rather you have to watch your diet more than ever. when you're training you know that whatever you eat will be burned off anyway, be it on that 12km long run on saturday or the 40min ez run. now, you know that whatever goes in, stays in.

but there are certainly benefits. i do not walk around the school wincing at every step i take, as a result of that killer interval set the day before that made my body ache like mad. i get to sleep in on saturday mornings legitimately, seeing how i have nothing on and nothing to skip, for the matter.

you also start to appreciate competition more. now when i browse the newspapers and see advertisements for the new balance real run, or the nike human race, i get tempted to just signup and run. this never happened when i was training competitively. i remember dreading before every race, including vomiting my lunch out for the two times that i took part in track nats. to happen once is bad enough, but twice? i was making it a habit, man. i hated competing. now, i'm itching to run and compete again, though the thought of training kinda puts me off. but i think i will join some race again, in due course.

that's all i have for now(partly cause i'm lazy ._.) but yea, cross is not as bad as it seems. train hard guys, good luck.

Cross Country!

Hi all,

The sec 4s will either be going to JC or they will be only coming on Saturdays. I guess.

Nevertheless, we are still a team and we will still strive for the best! See you around.
